Reduce the price of the adult monthly travel pass to get more people to use public transport, or expand the scheme to include City Direct and Express fares. MP Louis Chua made this suggestion in parliament on Wednesday (Mar 5). He expressed concern about the pace of progress towards the government’s goal of having 75 per cent of peak-period journeys made on buses and trains by 2030. Mr Chua also asked if additional revenue from carbon taxes could help fund enhancements to the public transport network.
