Committee of Supply 2025 debate, Day 4: Saktiandi Supaat on supporting electric heavy vehicle owners 


In parliament on Wednesday (Mar 5), MP Saktiandi Supaat highlighted data which forecast that 80 per cent of all passenger vehicles in Singapore are expected to be electric by 2040. Noting that similar data for electric heavy vehicles does not seem readily available, he wanted to know the current state of electrification for heavy vehicles in Singapore. He also called on the Ministry of Transport to explore the possibility of having heavy vehicle chargers at centralised parking facilities for heavy vehicles that would complement chargers installed within vehicle owners’ premises.
