The Ministry of Education (MOE) should revamp its assessment models for PSLE and the O-Level examination and shift to a higher proportion of classroom participation, portfolio building, project work discussions and less on paper examinations, said MP Carrie Tan. Speaking in parliament on Thursday (Mar 6), she noted that MOE has been encouraging schools to approach learning differently but many students still face stress and anxiety due to the assessment frameworks. She asked if the assessment models reflect the changes from the curriculum revamps.
