Committee of Supply 2025 debate, Day 5: Desmond Choo on manpower policies

Singapore’s workforce is ageing and there is an economic imperative, not just a moral imperative, to improve the participation rate of seniors and women in the workforce, said MP Desmond Choo in parliament on Thursday (Mar 6). He suggested that jobs for seniors must be redesigned and reimagined, and tailored support provided. To boost women's participation, he urged the government to do more to encourage gender equity in compensation and parity in senior management positions.
