Committee of Supply 2025 debate, Day 5: Mariam Jaafar on Workfare Skills Support expansion

Speaking in parliament on Thursday (Mar 6), MP Mariam Jaafar applauded the recent enhancements to the Workfare Skills Support scheme to provide lower-wage workers more access to more sectors. She asked how the government will encourage low-wage workers over the age of 30 to take up the longer courses that deepen skills and lead to better employment. She also asked the government to consider expanding the scheme to those over the age of 25.
