The Ministry of Manpower should continue to monitor and review all the schemes introduced over the years to ensure they can level the playing field for local professionals, managers and executives (PMEs) and strengthen the Singaporean core, said MP Patrick Tay. Speaking in parliament on Thursday (Mar 6), he also raised concerns with structural unemployment and stressed the need to monitor this closely, as well as provide proper career counselling, coaching and mentoring.
