"Bold steps" are needed to integrate Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) more effectively into Singapore’s healthcare system, said MP Ang Wei Neng, and this will require building a strong pipeline of physicians. Mr Ang suggested certifying experienced practitioners and drawing them into Healthier SG - a recognition that could pave the way for employers to accept MCs issued by them. To raise standards overall, the TCM Practitioners Board could require physicians to treat a minimum number of patients monthly and attend periodic refresher courses, he added.
