Committee of Supply 2025 debate, Day 6: Baey Yam Keng on Enabling Masterplan 2030, the vulnerable in residential homes, social service as a career
In parliament on Friday (Mar 7), Senior Parliamentary Secretary Baey Yam Keng asked for an update of the Enabling Masterplan 2030. He said employment and caregiving arrangements continue to be a challenge for persons with disabilities, and asked what more could be done for them. He also asked for a more holistic and coordinated approach towards care for those in residential homes, and said there must be a continuous enhancement of policies to address their emerging needs. As 2025 has been designated as the Year of Celebrating Social Service Professionals, he asked the Ministry of Social and Family Development how it would ensure that the sector remains a career of choice.
