How will the National Mental Health Office work in the area of suicide prevention? Will the National Mental Health Office establish key performance indicators specific to seeing a reduction in the number of suicides? How will the office ensure adequate postvention support for individuals and families following suicide attempts? NMP Keith Chua raised these questions among others in parliament on Friday (Mar 7). He also wanted to know how the Ministry of Health measures the efficacy of community mental health efforts such as Well-Being Circles and peer support circles and asked how the ministry will ensure that every Singaporean has access to such community initiatives.
