02:47 Min

ComLink+ is a government programme that provides financial help to lower-income families with children who are working towards achieving stability, self-reliance and social mobility. It is a whole-of-society effort implemented in partnership with the community, said MP Melvin Yong. He called for the expansion of the ComLink+ ecosystem to fill gaps and ensure that recipients not only receive short-term financial assistance but also achieve long-term financial stability. He suggested that the government work with partners to support ComLink+ families in a slew of areas. These range from job search, skills upgrading, career advancement and financial literacy to mental health, social integration and support for school-going children in the form of tutoring, mentorship and digital literacy. Mr Yong spoke in parliament on Friday (Mar 7).
