Committee of Supply 2025 debate, Day 6: Pritam Singh on SPH Media Trust KPIs

02:33 Min

In parliament on Friday (Mar 7), Leader of the Opposition Pritam Singh wanted to know the objective criteria that the Ministry of Digital Development and Information had set for the key performance indicators (KPIs) which were not reached by SPH Media Trust in FY2024/2025. He also asked if the KPIs were lowered or increased and wanted to know if SPH Media Trust had fared better on its KPIs since last year. Besides calling on the minister to share data on the print and digital subscriptions to SPH Media’s English and vernacular titles over the last two years, he also wanted to know if the ministry conducts surveys to gauge public response to local media outlets. Mr Singh also asked what other objective KPIs does the ministry keep track of to ensure that taxpayer dollars for SPH Media are purposefully spent.
