What new initiatives are being explored to sustain and enhance philanthropy and volunteerism, asked Senior Parliamentary Secretary Shawn Huang in parliament on Monday (Mar 10). He said more needs to be done to expand volunteer participation and have volunteerism remain an integral part of Singapore's national identity. He also called for more platforms for youths to be heard and for them to contribute meaningfully to society. He asked the Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth for plans to strengthen youth engagement, and to deepen partnerships between government, community organisations and youth-led initiatives.
