04:11 Min

Several Singapore leaders spoke about strengthening the country’s social fabric at the annual Singapore Perspectives conference, organised by the Institute of Policy Studies. Besides the theme of unity and cohesiveness – which was highlighted by Deputy Prime Minister Gan Kim Yong, other topics included how to nurture the nation’s younger generation as well as balancing racial and religious harmony. Even as Singapore aims to become a "We First" society, Mr Gan says its citizens need to stay united – especially so, at a time of technological change, demographic shifts and an uncertain global environment. Inclusivity and private-public sector cooperation also featured during discussions, as well as building relationships and using technology may make daily life easier.
