Committee of Supply 2025 debate, Day 7: Wan Rizal on community health, Project Dian and role of asatizah
M3’s fifth focus area of community health, which was introduced in 2023, aims to empower Malay-Muslims to take ownership of their health and adopt a sustainable healthy lifestyle. In parliament on Monday (Mar 10), MP Wan Rizal asked the Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth (MCCY) to provide an update on the focus area. He also wanted to know about the support given to the community and if there are any special programmes under M3 to support emotional resilience and mental well-being. Turning to Project Dian, he noted that the initiative plays an important role in supporting low-income Malay-Muslim families living in rental flats. He asked MCCY for an update on how Project Dian has improved the well-being of the families involved and if there are plans to expand it to all other M3@Towns. He also wanted to know how the government supports asatizah, empowering them to carry out their roles more efficiently.
