Committee of Supply 2026 debate, Day 1: Denise Phua on inclusive procurement and an AI-enabled Ministry of Finance
In parliament on Thursday (Feb 26), MP Denise Phua spoke on two areas where the Ministry of Finance (MOF) can lead meaningful transformation - inclusive procurement and AI-enabled fiscal governance. On inclusive procurement, she outlined how MOF can better support small- and medium-sized enterprises with three refinements. Turning to AI-enabled fiscal governance, she proposed that MOF can harness AI to meet rising transaction volumes and accountability expectations. By doing both, Singapore can strengthen enterprises, build social value recognition and ensure fiscal system robustness, she said.
