Committee of Supply 2026 debate, Day 2: Gho Sze Kee on growing ESG capabilities in legal sector

01:41 Min

After ESG was identified as a key area of growth in Singapore’s legal sector last year, the Ministry of Law introduced a programme allowing Singapore-qualified lawyers to be seconded into corporate sustainability teams to gain hands-on experience. MP Gho Sze Kee asked for an update - including take-up, given that secondment may not be feasible for all firms, especially small and medium-sized practices; where lawyers have been seconded to in this nascent area of growth; and what other pathways are being developed for lawyers unable to participate in secondment. She spoke in parliament on Friday (Feb 27).
