Committee of Supply 2026 debate, Day 2: Hany Soh on further encouraging legacy planning
The government's national legacy planning campaign is commendable and it should build on this momentum to help even more Singaporeans plan ahead, said MP Hany Soh. Speaking in parliament on Friday (Feb 27), she proposed to waive the S$50 registration fee and S$50 update fee for every will deposited with the Singapore Academy of Law’s Wills Registry, noting that the fee “deters many”. She added that as the government encourages more will-making, it must also strengthen safeguards.
