As Singapore advances as an AI and advanced manufacturing hub, its electricity system must remain stable, forward-looking and climate-aligned, because energy security is the foundation of economic security, said MP Edward Chia in parliament on Monday (Mar 2). On decarbonisation, he wanted to know how the government can keep Singapore's transition to low-carbon electricity credible despite price volatility. He also wanted to know what investments the government is making in grid reinforcement, storage and system balancing, to ensure reliability remains uncompromised.
