One of the questions he had was on the additional S$1 billion injection into the Startup SG Equity scheme - what gap is the Ministry of Trade and Industry trying to close, he asked, and how will the capital be deployed? Mr Ng said public funds should not be concentrated within the “same small pool of start-ups” and co-investment should widen participation, deepen sector capabilities and bring in founders and new markets.
