Committee of Supply 2026 debate, Day 4: Cai Yinzhou on more designated fishing spots
In parliament on Tuesday (Mar 3), MP Cai Yinzhou called for the Ministry of Sustainability and the Environment to consider opening more designated fishing spots within reservoirs and waterways by providing convenient and legal access. He noted that Singapore has 8,000 kilometres of waterways, 17 reservoirs “and yet only 15 designated fishing spots”. He also said that more can be done to encourage children to spend time outdoors.
