02:02 Min

If sea-based farming is a pillar of Singapore’s resilience, the government must protect its viability, said MP Cai Yinzhou in parliament on Tuesday (Mar 3). He noted that between 2023 and 2024, Singapore lost a quarter of its open-cage fish farms and 74 remain. To ensure that local farms thrive, he outlined three suggestions, including whether the Ministry of Sustainability and the Environment will partner with the Singapore Tourism Board and National Heritage Board to integrate sea farms into heritage and tourism products.
