Committee of Supply 2026 debate, Day 4: Diana Pang on respecting and supporting skilled trades

In parliament on Tuesday (Mar 3), MP Diana Pang spoke about creating diverse pathways to success through skilled trades, and the need to recognise hands-on work as essential, skilled and worthy of respect. She called for the government to actively promote the message that skilled trades are essential work and a respected choice. She said the government should also ensure that trade mastery translates into a good living, and urged employers to support and fairly remunerate trade workers.
