Singapore will do more to equip workers to adapt in an AI-transformed landscape. They will be able to assess their AI readiness with a simple self-diagnostic tool on the MySkillsFuture portal and navigate a wide range of AI-related training options more easily. From the second half of 2026, all Institutions of Higher Learning will also offer selected AI-related courses at significant discounts for all alumni, for one year to begin with. Minister of State for Education Jasmin Lau announced this in parliament on Tuesday (Mar 3). She also explained how her ministry aims for every student to “learn about AI, learn how to use AI, learn with AI and learn beyond AI”. Educators have an important role to play in modelling how to think, question and act responsibly in an AI-enabled world, she said. MOE will help them use AI tools meaningfully, empowering them to focus on the “deeply human aspects” of education - guidance, mentorship and connection.
