The new CPF Lifetime Retirement Investment Scheme (LRIS) is a “game changer” that will benefit the majority of Singaporeans, especially if several steps are taken, said MP Shawn Loh. He proposed a large-scale public education campaign on the benefits of taking long-term investment risk to achieve a higher expected return; making it as easy as possible - or even the default- to opt in; and adding more friction for Singaporeans to speculate with the scheme.
