Committee of Supply 2026 debate, Day 4: Yeo Wan Ling on quality and productivity of foreign workforce
In parliament on Tuesday (Mar 3), MP Yeo Wan Ling highlighted that Singapore’s approach to foreign manpower must go beyond access, and its deployment must drive productivity and translate into better jobs and stronger wage outcomes for Singaporeans. She called on the Ministry of Manpower to accompany the expansion of the Non-Traditional Sources Occupation List with clear productivity-linked conditions, and to also ensure that the expansion does not suppress wage growth for vulnerable local workers.
