Committee of Supply 2026 debate, Day 4: Yeo Wan Ling on strengthening migrant workers' access to amenities and community spaces

01:08 Min

While workplace issues have been closely examined, the government must not forget the living conditions of Singapore’s hardworking migrant workers. Many spend most of their time between dormitories and work sites, with limited opportunities to relax, socialise or build community. Prolonged separation from families can also affect their emotional well-being and heighten isolation. MP Yeo Wan Ling said this in parliament on Tuesday (Mar 3), where she called on the Ministry of Manpower to continue investing in measures to strengthen migrant workers’ access to amenities and community spaces.
