Committee of Supply 2026 debate, Day 5: Cai Yinzhou on invisible medical conditions and one touchpoint for seniors

04:15 Min

The government must ensure that Singapore's infrastructure of care is robust enough to support the struggles of those with invisible medical conditions, said MP Cai Yinzhou. Speaking in parliament on Wednesday (Mar 4), he wanted to know if the government would implement a tiered reporting framework that allows for greater confidentiality and more inclusive and empathetic healthcare. Turning to the isolation seniors face, he urged the government to partner with educational institutes to conduct surveys on the social determinants on health to understand if its efforts are truly reducing isolation. It should ramp up dental, audiology and podiatry facilities to estates with a high concentration of seniors, he said.
