Committee of Supply 2026 debate, Day 5: Cai Yinzhou on reimagining home ownership for all

01:50 Min

Singapore must move away from merely providing housing to redefining the inclusivity of its social compact, said MP Cai Yinzhou. Speaking in parliament on Wednesday (Mar 4), he urged the government to clarify how it would prioritise five key areas in housing. These are the middle-income squeeze, right-sizing, aspirations of singles, Singaporeans with foreign spouses and single unwed parents. He stressed the need to “dare to imagine” a Singapore where affordable housing is not just available to some, but truly accessible at the right price and right size for all.
