Committee of Supply 2026 debate, Day 5: Fadli Fawzi on home ownership for rental flats and comfortably ageing in place

The government should improve the pathways for home ownership for families living in rental flats, said MP Fadli Fawzi. Speaking in parliament on Wednesday (Mar 4), he wanted to know how the government would shorten the time it takes for families to move from public rental housing to owning their homes. Turning to seniors living in older and smaller flats, he urged the government to consider providing targeted cash support to help them age in place - with dignity, safety and basic comfort.
