Committee of Supply 2026 debate, Day 6: Alex Yam on forming a 'we first' generation
In a "we first" society, youths are not just beneficiaries of Singapore's future, they must also be partners in shaping it, said MP Alex Yam. Speaking in parliament on Thursday (Mar 5), he wanted to know how the Ministry for Culture, Community and Youth is equipping young people with the resilience to navigate pressures of the digital world, while remaining grounded in a sense of shared responsibility for Singapore. He also wanted to know what opportunities there are for young Singaporeans to step forward meaningfully in community-building, policymaking and service to society.
