Participation in community sports is growing and demand for neighbourhood and precinct-level facilities is rising but noise can also easily become a source of discord, said MP Gho Sze Kee. It would be easy to turn underutilised spaces in the neighbourhoods into more pickleball courts or other sports courts but the most convenient place may not be the best or right place, she said in parliament on Thursday (Mar 5). She asked for an update on the rollout of sports facilities in the neighbourhoods and wanted to know how the government is planning ahead to meet demand while managing friction.
