The Consumers Association of Singapore is stepping up efforts to protect consumers when shopping online. A survey, which polled about 1,500 people, found that more than half of respondents came across fake reviews, delayed deliveries and undisclosed sponsorships. The Competition and Consumer Commission of Singapore has also taken action against Courts and Prism+ for misleading shoppers on their websites, which led to unwanted purchases or customers being pressured to make the sale. Courts automatically added items to customers' carts, while Prism+ had features to trick customers, such as unfounded claims of stock running low. Beatrice Yap reports.
