Countries ready to evacuate their citizens as Lebanon conflict rages

05:18 Min

Countries are racing to evacuate their citizens from parts of the Middle East, as there has been no let up in fighting. Two Japanese Self-Defense Force planes will be on standby in Greece and Jordan for evacuation if the situation worsens. Australia has secured around 580 seats on two flights for its citizens who want to leave Lebanon. On the ground, a strike in Beirut has killed at least nine medical workers, just metres away from Lebanon's parliament. The latest Israeli attacks come after the IDF suffered its deadliest day on the Lebanese front in a year of fighting. Trent Murray reports.
