34:37 Min

Team Singapore Olympians and Paralympians and their loved ones were present in the House on Wednesday (Oct 16), as Parliament congratulated them on their achievements at the 2024 Paris Olympic and Paralympic Games. Culture, Community and Youth Minister Edwin Tong thanked them for bringing Singapore together as a community through sports, saying what resonates with Singaporeans goes beyond tangible medal achievements. “More important is the resilience we saw in their attitudes and the grace with which they conducted themselves and flown our flag so proudly,” he said. Mr Tong stressed the need to build on their success. “We want today's athletes to be the giants on whose shoulders tomorrow’s athletes stand. To reach further, faster, stronger, higher together. So that we can also achieve more with each succeeding generation of Team Singapore athletes,” he said. He urged aspiring champions to stay focused, trust the process and embrace every opportunity to compete.
