Five receive President's Award for the Environment, Singapore's highest environmental accolade
The President's Award for the Environment honours those in Singapore who have made significant efforts towards building a climate-resilient future. President Tharman Shanmugaratnam gave out the country's highest environmental accolade to five recipients in a ceremony at Gardens by the Bay. Recipients include Associate Professor Simon Tay, who spearheaded transboundary haze issues in the region. A posthumous conferment was given to Dr Leong Chee Chiew for his dedication to shaping Singapore's natural landscape. Mandai Wildlife Group and CapitaLand Group clinched the award for the organisation category, while the education institution award went to Nanyang Technological University.
