13:55 Min

The Government will expand the network for well-being champions to implement mental well-being initiatives at the workplace. The network now has 275 members from 145 companies with close to 135,000 employees. The Government will work closely with various agencies, tripartite partners and trade associations to expand the network, said Minister of State for Manpower Gan Siow Huang. Speaking in Parliament on Wednesday (Feb 7), she said peer support is another important part of strengthening workplace mental well-being support. The National Council of Social Service and Health Promotion Board are working together to enhance training for peer supporters and develop a framework to support them in providing emotional support and lending a listening ear to colleagues. Ms Gan also said the Government will continue to work with its tripartite partners to raise awareness of the importance of setting after-hours work communications policy, as well as greater adoption of work-life harmony measures. She said the Public Service Division is taking the lead to strengthen mental well-being support for civil servants. This includes providing a range of well-being programmes and resources on self-care.
