Gan Siow Huang on take-up rates for SkillsFuture Credit (Mid-Career) top-up scheme
Since receiving the S$4,000 SkillsFuture Credit (Mid-Career) top-up on 1 May 2024, more than 25,000 Singaporeans aged 40 and above have utilised the credit as of Nov 30 last year. The top area of training in the first seven months was in information and communication technologies, covering skills such as digital marketing and data visualisation. Other popular areas of training include security and investigation as well as wholesale and retail trade. Minister of State for Education Gan Siow Huang gave this update in reply to MPs’ questions in Parliament on Wednesday (Jan 8). She also said that the top training providers include Institutes of Higher Learning as well as private training providers such as NTUC Learning Hub.
