Singapore will head to the polls on May 3, amid what Prime Minister Lawrence Wong described as “profound changes in the world” that have ushered in “uncertainty and instability.” Mr Wong had earlier advised President Tharman Shanmugaratnam to dissolve Parliament and issue the Writ of Election. Nomination Day is set for Apr 23, with nine days of campaigning to follow. A “cooling-off day” will precede Polling Day.
