GE2025: People's Alliance for Reform - Party Political Broadcast, Apr 25 | Video
The People’s Alliance for Reform says it has solutions to lower the cost of living and make public housing affordable again. In a party political broadcast for GE2025 on Friday (Apr 25), Secretary-General Lim Tean said if elected, PAR will push for free education, free school meals and free healthcare for every Singaporean child. This will significantly lower the cost of living for parents and encourage them to have more children, he said.
Mr Lim said Singapore has the money to provide for all this without further taxes or dipping into the reserves. Continuous net immigration cannot be the solution to Singapore’s low fertility rate, he said, as it will have “grave consequences” for national identity and social cohesion.
Mr Lim said PAR will fight for essentials to be exempt from GST, free public transport for seniors, making public housing more affordable by barring permanent residents from buying resale flats, and job priority for Singaporeans.
