Has The Internet Broken Parenting?

About the show:

Parenting is hard. But has it gotten harder in the age of the Internet?

Pre-Internet, young parents had to find their way with advice from grandparents, parents and well-meaning friends and relatives, and maybe some expert input from books and doctors. These days, the cacophony of advice has gotten a lot louder, with the Internet providing an overwhelming amount of often-contradictory opinions and facts. What is a new parent to do in order to find their way through that deluge of information?

In this 2-part series, we look at what young parents in Singapore have to deal with in terms of what the Internet serves them, from pregnancy through to the first few years of their child’s life. How do they weigh the multitude of information and decide on what works for them? How do they make the Internet an ally, counter the social media pressures from super mums and perfect fathers, and turn off all the excess noise?
