Hong Kong is regarded as one of the world’s richest cities, but it is also one of the most unequal cities and the wealth gap is widening. Today, 1.4 million out of 7.4 million people in the city live in poverty. The situation has been made worse by the current recession and COVID-19 pandemic. Can the poor in Hong Kong survive the onslaught of the current pandemic and economic slump?
