Former Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte will remain in detention at The Hague, after judges at the International Criminal Court denied his appeal for an interim release. The defence had argued for his release, citing the 80-year-old former leader's advanced age and alleged declining health. Duterte has been in detention for more than eight months. In July, he was charged with three counts of crimes against humanity for his alleged involvement in dozens of killings as part of his "war on drugs". Maria Ronson reports from Metro Manila.
