Jamus Lim on Retirement and Re-employment (Amendment) Bill and Central Provident Fund (Amendment) Bill
A suggestion to abolish the retirement age was made by MP Jamus Lim in Parliament on Monday (Nov 1). He said this was a “logical conclusion” based on various factors such as Singapore’s ageing society and the changing nature of jobs which, with modern technology, could potentially be done at any age. He stressed that this did not mean the CPF payout eligibility age should be raised.
