Janil Puthucheary on helping seniors combat online falsehoods

A study last year showed that no age group was immune to misinformation, said Senior Minister of State for Communications and Information Janil Puthucheary in Parliament on Thursday (Feb 25). However, he said seniors face specific challenges navigating new digital technologies and the Government will continue to help them gain digital literacy. For instance, there are now digital ambassadors at 55 community hubs islandwide to offer in-person support. Dr Janil was answering an MP’s question on whether there were targeted plans to reach out to seniors in the fight against online falsehoods.
