Tokyo's foreign envoy has reportedly left the Chinese foreign ministry building in Beijing without responding to questions from the media. Masaaki Kanai had met his Chinese counterpart Liu Jinsong to lay out Tokyo's position on Taiwan. Japan's top government spokesperson has also maintained that Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi's remarks align with the official existing position, although China has repeatedly demanded that she retract her comment. Meanwhile, Chinese airlines have recorded 491,000 air ticket cancellations to Japan after Beijing's travel warning. Deborah Wong reports.
