Japanese firms finding ways to upcycle cosmetics into art
Japan is one of the world's largest manufacturers of cosmetics, producing about US$8.5 billion of products in the last financial year. But, much of it ends up in the waste. About 10 tonnes of upcycled cosmetics was recently supplied for a mass painting event in Tokyo, which was organised by Japanese beauty brand Kanebo and printing company Toppan. Michiyo Ishida reports.
