Digital inclusion is about more than just access - it is about the ability to use digital technologies effectively and safely, and having trust in the security and resilience of the digital environment so that everyone can truly benefit. With new technologies and sophisticated tools constantly emerging, user digital literacy will not be sufficient either - more must be asked of Government, platform players, telecommunication companies and device manufacturers to improve levels of security. At the same time, she said, Singapore - as an advanced market with high levels of connectivity and many residents owning smart devices - offers an excellent base to innovate and showcase higher standards of security.
