Singapore’s Minister for Digital Development and Information Josephine Teo, ACRA’s chief executive Chia-Tern Huey Min and Second Minister for Finance Indranee Rajah addressed public anxiety over disclosure of National Registration Identity Card (NRIC) numbers on ACRA's new Bizfile portal at a press conference on Thursday (Dec 19). This comes after privacy concerns were raised when users reported that the portal published people's full NRIC numbers for free in its search results. ACRA's chief executive explained how the NRIC issue arose, and apologised for it.
