Kenneth Tiong on Finance (Income Taxes) Bill

16:31 Min

In parliament on Thursday (Nov 6), MP Kenneth Tiong spoke on a new tax rebate to encourage companies to list their shares on the Singapore stock market. He questioned the extension of the rebate to secondary listings and explained why he had reservations about giving listing incentives at all. Mr Tiong said he supported giving the government latitude on a tightly scoped and time-limited experiment, but believed it is unlikely to move the needle on improving SGX’s competitiveness.
