Koh Lian Pin on moving towards a low-carbon society

Singapore is capable of thinking beyond the dichotomy of economic development versus environmental protection, said NMP Koh Lian Pin. Speaking in Parliament on Wednesday (Jan 12), he said that nature-based carbon projects, such as reforestation or mangrove conservation and restoration, will allow Singapore to "turn off one tap" of its carbon emissions. Prof Koh also called for greater transparency and accountability for buyers and producers of carbon credits.
